How to develop a sound survey or interview from idea to final instrument

This course covers the FOUR Phases of survey and interview protocol development. This is for any doctoral student preparing to collect research data, for leaders who want to develop and collect data in their organization, and for researchers looking to create better surveys and interviews. We first begin with pre-preparation techniques to gain focus on what we want to measure from the collected data. We then move to developing and drafting by examining survey direction, Question types, and the impact of order. We then move on to the testing phase and the use of peer-debriefing on the testing process. We then move onto the finalization phase where we develop a coding system for our protocols using a protocol template that I provide. We then add a bonus section to discuss research productivity yield for those who wish to maximize their data collection. In all, this course allows for its students to develop a data collection instrument for both qualitative and quantitative research. You will learn the core principles of developing a sound research instrument. You do not have to be currently working on a research project, but it would help if you were, as you can use this model to do as you learn.
