Learn how to Chart a Clear Path to Long-Term Success and Sustainability and Leverage your Theory of Change

About this course...

Strategic planning is the process we use to enable our nonprofits to achieve their missions. It’s also the overarching ability–or capacity–to plan strategically over time. Nonprofit strategic planning is a structured process that organizations use to define their direction, set priorities, allocate resources, and strengthen operations to achieve their mission and goals. It involves analyzing the nonprofit's internal and external environment, identifying opportunities and challenges, and making informed decisions about long-term objectives. This planning helps ensure that all activities align with the organization's mission and values, driving impactful outcomes and sustainable growth.

We'll explore the typical process of strategic planning, including stakeholder engagement, setting measurable goals, creating action plans, and regularly reviewing progress to adjust strategies as needed. We'll then look at ways to make the process truly transformative for your nonprofit. This skill is useful across many roles in a nonprofit, and can be used to deepen your own effectiveness in your current role or advance to another role.
