What This Course Is About
This video course was created to provide you with all the material you need to establish a Kungfu and Qi Gong practice at home.
General Structure
Let’s retreat into the serene Italian Alps as we explore the theory, concepts, and history that form the foundation of Kungfu and Qi Gong. Once we set the stage with the essential themes, we’ll dive into movement.
Warm-Ups & Stretches
A solid preparation begins with a fitting warm-up and tailored stretches. Depending on the type of training you’re focusing on, you’ll have the option to choose:
A soft warm-up for gentle training or
A more active warm-up for vigorous sessions.
The same applies to stretches:
Light stretching for beginners or recovery days.
Advanced stretching for deeper flexibility and more intense practice.
You’ll design your own preparation based on the form you want to focus on first: Wu Xing Qi Gong or Ji Ben Quan.
Building the Basics
The basics are the foundation of everything. They’re like the cornerstone of a temple—far more important than flashy techniques.
This course is packed with fundamentals:
Learn essential stances like Mabu, Gongbu, Pubu, Dingbu, Dulibu, ...
Master the proper form for each stance and how to prepare your body for them.
Once we’ve covered static basics, we’ll begin moving drills:
External Drills: Improve technique and condition the physical body.
Internal Drills: Refine posture, enhance relaxation, focus on breathing, and train the mind.
Wu Xing Qi Gong
After all that preparation, you’ll be ready for Qi Gong. We’ll practice Wu Xing Qi Gong (Five Phases Qi Gong), which consists of:
An opening sequence and 5 exercises inspired by legendary animals.
Movements that stimulate energy channels and balance your body’s elements.
This practice not only promotes relaxation, deep breathing, and peace of mind but also revitalizes and strengthens specific organs. It’s the perfect internal practice for improving overall health and well-being.
Ji Ben Quan
For our external practice, we’ll dive into Ji Ben Quan, but first, we’ll need to focus on kicks:
Flexibility Kicks: Improve dynamic flexibility.
Power Kicks: Build strength while maintaining proper posture.
Jump Kicks: Combine flexibility and power for spectacular movements that make you feel light on your feet.
What is Ji Ben Quan?
Ji Ben Quan, meaning "Basic Fist Set," is a traditional Kungfu form taught to new students. This form uses some of the basics you’ve learned and combines them into a seamless sequence of movements.
We’ll focus on Ji Ben Quan step by step:
Practice slowly to refine technique.
Smoothly connect the movements.
Finally, increase speed and fluidity for a powerful, cohesive form.
A Lifetime of Practice
Ji Ben Quan is a valuable form, and when combined with Wu Xing Qi Gong and the basics, it gives you a complete toolkit for a life-full-of-practice.
When You Complete the Course
With the vast variety of exercises included, you’ll have something to practice every day, keeping your routine both creative and fulfilling.
Here’s what you can expect:
A stronger, more flexible body: Improved posture, strength, and overall health.
Mental clarity and peace: Feel lighter and calm, with renewed focus.
Enhanced awareness and breathing control: Take charge of your well-being and energy levels.
This course will leave you with everything you need to build a practice that aligns with your goals—whether for health, mindfulness, or martial arts mastery.
