Relax and move your body, embrace an energetic life
In the fast-paced modern life, we are like high-speed running machines, busy all day long with work, study and all kinds of trivial matters. Sitting for long periods and staring at electronic screens gradually make our bodies stiff and tired, as if bound by invisible shackles. And moving the body easily is like injecting lubricating oil into this "machine", which can make it regain its vitality and vigor.
In the early morning, when the first ray of sunlight gently spills into the room, a new day begins. At this point, it might be a good idea not to rush into the hustle and bustle for now. Instead, spend about ten minutes having a relaxing morning stretch. Standing by the window, I slowly stretch out my arms, just like a bird about to spread its wings and fly high, feeling the stretching and relaxation of my muscles. Next, slowly rotate your neck a few times clockwise and counterclockwise to relax the tense neck muscles that have been looking down at your mobile phone or computer for a long time. Bend down and touch your toes, experiencing the wonderful feeling of the ligaments at the back of your legs being stretched, as if releasing all the dullness of the night with this movement. This series of simple stretching exercises is like opening a door to vitality for the body, allowing us to greet the new day with a more energetic mental state.
During breaks from work or study, the body has already sent out protest signals - aching shoulders, dry eyes, and stiff back and waist. At this point, it is crucial to get up and move around. I will get up from my seat and pace back and forth in the aisles of the office or classroom, moving my legs and feet to promote blood circulation. Then, do some simple shoulder and neck relaxation exercises: Cross your hands behind your back, with the palms facing each other, and slowly lift them upwards, feeling the shoulder blades move closer to the middle, as if squeezing out all the pressure. Shrug your shoulders again, then drop them quickly. Repeat this several times to instantly relax the tense muscles in your shoulders and neck. My eyes also need care. I will look at the green plants in the distance, take a few deep breaths, and let my eyes relieve fatigue in the natural colors. These seemingly insignificant little actions can actually help us temporarily escape from a tense atmosphere and regain our focus and efficiency.
In the evening, after a busy day, it's time for a refreshing physical activity. I chose to go jogging in the park, put on comfortable sports shoes, face the gentle breeze and set foot on the path bathed in the afterglow of the setting sun. At the beginning, the steps might be a bit heavy, but as the body gradually heats up, the steps also become light. Breathing in the fresh air and feeling the sweat sliding down the forehead, every cell in the body is cheering and jumping for joy. Jogging can not only enhance the functions of the heart and lungs, but also release the stress and negative emotions accumulated throughout the day. When you get tired from running, stop and do some simple stretching exercises, such as lunges and leg presses, and forward bends, to fully relax your muscles and avoid soreness after exercise.
At night, lie in bed and do some light physical relaxation exercises before going to bed. Lie flat on the bed, with your legs slightly apart, your hands naturally at your sides, close your eyes and take deep breaths. Inhale slowly to fill your abdomen with air and feel the expansion of your abdomen. Then exhale slowly and gradually contract your abdomen. During this process, imagine the fatigue and tension in your body being expelled with each exhalation. Next, relax each part of the body in sequence, starting from the toes and gradually moving upwards to the ankles, calves, thighs, buttocks, waist, back, shoulders, arms, fingers, neck, and face, allowing every muscle to be immersed in a relaxed state. With this total relaxation, fall into a sweet dream.
Relaxing your body doesn't mean engaging in high-intensity or challenging exercises. Instead, it's about making use of fragmented time in daily life to offer your body some care and protection. It is like a soothing piece of music, integrating into every corner of our lives, making our bodies healthier and more flexible, and our minds more pleasant and peaceful. Let's start from now on, take action, move our bodies easily and embrace a vibrant and wonderful life.
